Our History

FWP was founded on Ribblesdale Place in Preston City Centre in December 1960.

In over half a century we have evolved into a multi – disciplinary construction development practice providing a full range of services to our clients. These services range from project management, architecture and design through to comprehensive project delivery.

In 2010 we celebrated half a century in business with a garden party where clients, founders, fellow contractors, suppliers and staff, all came together to join in the celebrations in the newly refurbished gardens at our office in Preston.


FWP is an award winning architectural and  multi-disciplinary design practice. Our approach is defined by the exploration of new ideas, development and expertise and our commitment to sustainability.

We are a RIBA chartered practice as well as having ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and Construction  Line Gold Accreditation.

We work on schemes around the UK from our core office in Preston, Lancashire and additional offices in Manchester and London.

We offer Architecture, M&E Design, Structural Engineering, Interior Design, Building Surveying, Project Management, Quantity Surveying and CDM Consultancy.

We are committed to every scheme we work on, we bring creativity and passion with our enthusiasm to design to all of our projects. We have a broad range of experience ensuring we constantly deliver projects efficiently and cost- effectively.


Blezard was established in 1960 and provides Building Engineering Services. The company offers a range of services to meet specific client needs including; Consulting Engineering, Services Management, Integrated Building and Energy Services.

In 2014, Blezard became part of the FWP Group and operates out of our offices in Preston.

Blezard have a wealth of experience ranging from refurbishment projects to large scale new build developments across all sectors. Our team are approachable and bring with them knowledge and experience to be able to meet current legislation and deliver good practice whilst demonstrating detailed knowledge of the latest technologies, energy efficiency, environmental sustainability and cost management.

We are supported by the latest CAD, BIM and energy analysis technology and can offer various levels of support to the client, design team, or FM departments to fully exploit the opportunities available.

We adopt a proactive philosophy to the construction process and believe early consultation and involvement with the design team helps achieve successful delivery of all our projects.

TRP Consulting

TRP Consulting specialises in providing civil, structural and environmental engineering consultancy services.

Our structural engineers have a strong track record of delivery on large scale complex building works.

Our expert team provides a full range of civil, structural and environmental engineering consultancy services – providing a broad knowledge base and promoting a proactive approach to project delivery.

Staff Development

At FWP, all employees attend monthly Continued Professional Development (CPD) training, which provides the staff with up to date knowledge and the right skills to tackle the working environment.

All employees are also encouraged to attend training and seminars where it is considered that FWP and in turn our clients will gain from specialist knowledge.

This ensures that employees have ready access to current reference material, changes in technology and professional practices relevant to work.

Health & Safety

FWP has a written Health & Safety Policy and system. The managing partners, through the guidance of their Health and Safety Officer, are responsible for ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety Regulations.

FWP has a health and safety at work system. It is the policy of FWP, to ensure that, so far as is reasonably practicable:

  • Working conditions for all members of staff are safe and healthy
  • Any operations or working practices carried out do not adversely affect any members of staff or members of the public
  • All statutory Regulations and codes of practice are complied with
  • Provision of safe systems of work for all members of staff, including travelling and visits to site
  • Provision of appropriate information, training and supervision to encourage a sense of responsibility towards health and safety issues by all members of staff
