Sustainability
Our Approach to Design
At FWP we are committed to designing schemes which minimise environmental impact and optimise energy efficiency.
Recent years have seen rapidly changing processes and technologies. A combination of statutory regulations, client demand and our own aspiration has led to environmental sustainability being essential to every project we undertake.
We approach each scheme as an opportunity to reduce energy but we also believe that environmental awareness should not be viewed as a limitation of design potential – rather as an important and exciting addition to the brief parameters.
FWP are taking steps to reduce its own Green House Gases emissions over time and is committed to achieving Net Zero by 2050.
Our Policy to Design
We believe as architects and designers we have an urgent duty to lessen the effects of climate change by designing buildings which work harder and perform better.
Over the past 50 years we have steadily increased our knowledge in this sector.
We are committed to:
- Ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation
- Communicate environmental issues and standards to all employees, contractors and suppliers
- Ensure continuous improvements in environmental performance
Conservation Design
FWP have worked on several projects where conservation is the key aspect.
Over the years we have gained experience and built up an extensive portfolio working on listed buildings, conservation areas, and specialist areas successfully obtaining planning permission and listed building consent on many of our projects.
We are able to provide advice on;
- Working on listed buildings
- Construction works within conservation areas
- Grant and lottery funding applications
