FWP is proud to offer a comprehensive suite of multidisciplinary services including Architectural Design, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, CDM, and Principal Designer roles to this essential healthcare project.

Initiated in May 2020, the Bryn Ward was rapidly developed to address the urgent need for COVID-19 patient care, featuring 50 beds with 27 dedicated to intensive care, constructed within the hospital’s car park. Following this, in 2021, a £7.6 million community assessment unit was introduced, adding 21 beds to support the hospital’s capacity. This unit, built swiftly in response to the pandemic, now requires formal planning approval for its continued operation. FWP has been engaged to facilitate this transition, focusing on updating the façade to comply with planning requirements while respecting the conservation area’s guidelines. Our team is committed to selecting materials that not only meet these criteria but also enhance the ward’s integration with the surrounding environment.

We are honoured to work alongside the WWL NHS Foundation Trust on this project, contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of healthcare facilities in Wigan.
